The 2025 Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival took place this weekend from Jan. 30–Feb. 1. Performances from Yolande Laroche, Don Byron & Michael Occhipinti Quartet with Rich Brown & Jinu Isac, The 33z, Virginia MacDonald Quartet, Julian Selody For the Birds, Ben Wendel Duo with Dan Tepfer, Sarah Neufeld, Richard Reed Parry, Rebecca Foon, and Urban Science Brass Band finished off the festival Saturday night.
This year’s program features 15 shows, including JUNO Award-winning vocalist Caity Gyorgy, Cuban jazz master Hilario Duran, and a new collaboration between Sarah Neufeld, Richard Reed Parry, and Rebecca Foon.
Linsey Wellman was featured as a guest addition, adding much in the way of woodwinds, and we even got a live debut of a song.
We may be in the throes of winter, but you wouldn’t know it this Saturday as Ottawa’s hottest art-pop act takes the Fourth Stage at the National Arts Centre.
