“This City Is A Grid” by Michael C. Duguay (mal/aimé remix) // Ottawa’s Yolande Laroche (Pony Girl, Orchidae) steps into the realm of ambient chamber music with her experimental improvisation project mal/aimé. On this remix of a Michael C. Duguay tune she builds dreamy landscapes with synth and voice loops and her signature techniques on the clarinet using breath, vocalization and percussive approaches to the instrument. (Bandcamp)

“Tofino” by Casa Lagarto // It’s been a while for Ottawa psych-rock band Casa Lagarto, who released their debut EP in early 2018 and followed up just last weekend with the hazy new single “Tofino,” and a music video we saw on Photogmusic.com (Ming Wu’s long-running #ottmusic blog). (Bandcamp)
