Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
With another wintry weekend at home around the corner, have we reached our limit for cozy indoor virtual fun? Gosh, I hope not.

With another wintry weekend at home around the corner, have we reached our limit for cozy indoor virtual fun? Gosh, I hope not.
This weekend marks the arrival of yet another COVID-19 lockdown in Ottawa. With stay-at-home orders in effect as of midnight last night, this weekend’s roundup will focus on things you can do within your own home and neighbourhood, as venturing out is not in the cards for the next while.
Between lockdowns and curfews, we’re low on organized events to share this weekend. So besides a friendly reminder to make safe choices, we’ve got a few suggestions lined up for your weekend.
Whatever you do over the holidays, 613ers, please stay safe and stay positive! Tag us in your fun at-home shenanigans and your lovely festive walks. The Weekend Roundup Crew will be here and ready to plan your weekends in 2021. #APT613
Whether you’re fitting in some shopping or enjoy the sights, this weekend has plenty of fun holiday options.
The Christmas themed events just keep on rolling! Drive through holiday displays can be found at all corners of the city this year.
We’ve somehow managed to make it through to the final month of 2020 and, for that, I think we all deserve a bit of celebration. As this weekend approaches, we’ve got a bunch of great ideas for you all as to how to properly go about it during this festive season.
Well it’s not quite December, but we’re firmly into holiday events. With so many of our favourite annual events online, it’s easier than ever to take them all in.
As the weather continues to cool down, and we have more reasons to stay inside where it is both cozy and safe, the city seems to be taking a breath before the hectic holiday season really kicks in.
November’s second summer is coming to an end and this weekend we will have returned to more seasonal temperatures. While we may have to put on our jackets and scarves before heading outside, there is plenty to enjoy if we do (as well as plenty to do if we don’t)!
Forget about winter! Put away the snow boots and pull out your sunglasses and sandals for one more spectacular sunny weekend! We’ve got lots going on, from virtual craft fairs to beer halls to music and dance performances.
Even if Halloween is mostly cancelled, there is still Halloween candy and scary movies to get us through the weekend!
After what has been a rainy week, we are fortunate to have dry skies this weekend and to be able to make the most of one of the final (dare we say it?) weekends of fall. We may not get to enjoy some of the liberties we had before returning to Stage 2 of city shutdowns amidst this global pandemic, but we folks are creative and there is still plenty going on in this fine city.
Anyone else lose track of time after a long weekend? This weekend roundup doesn’t pay attention to days of the week; rather, this weekend is about grooving to local music, enjoying local food and going on local adventures.
Take a breath this weekend. This year especially, Thanksgiving is the perfect time for some reflection, gratitude and re-calibration of goals and expectations.
