Welcome to the long weekend!
It’s a rainy Thursday in Ottawa, but guess what? The forecast for the next three days looks like perfect summer weather! And good thing too, because festival season is in full swing in Ottawa! Jazz, dragon boats, summer solstice events and more are on the schedule.
It’s a busy early-summer weekend in Ottawa. From ByWard Market to biking, here’s the ultimate list of things to do this weekend.
While this weekend’s weather looks questionable, that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying one (or many!) of this weekend’s events.
Happy June, everyone! The city continues to come alive as the sun gets hotter and the days get longer. This weekend you can enjoy free entry to dozens of Ottawa’s most interesting and beautiful buildings during Doors Open, or choose to stay in and enjoy a variety of live music all over town. Election Day is Thursday in Ontario, so before you get too deep into your weekend plans, make your way to the polls and vote for a province you want to live in!
While the city continues to recover and reconnect after last weekend’s storm, the good news is there are some summer classics to look forward to this weekend.
We made it! The May long weekend always feels like the official beginning of great weather and summer plans… though last week sure felt like the middle of July. Check out all the great activities this weekend and stay safe!
Welcome to tulip season, friends! It seems like the whole city has come alive in the last week, with the magnolias exploding off their branches and the tulips suddenly coming out of nowhere. We are solidly heading towards a warm, welcoming spring.
The great weather is here and there’s so much to take in this weekend! Whether it’s a great community walk, music, local vendor markets, a sports match or even the stars above, there’s plenty no matter what you’re in the mood for. Enjoy it safely and let us know what you get up to! Ongoing/all […]
Ottawa is on the edge of a beautiful spring—all we need after the recent rain (and snow!) is a bit of sunshine, which conveniently is in the forecast for this weekend.
We are one work week closer to real spring now, friends. Can you feel it? While the blossoms are slower to arrive than last year, we are counting our blessings and watching closely for the next perfect moment to hit a patio! This weekend is one for the books, with the launch of undercurrents—back in person!—and the Ottawa Grassroots Festival bringing new musical voices to downtown. The NAC is hitting it out of the park, as usual, and there is some great eco-conscious ultra-local shopping to do to round out the perfect spring weekend.
Hopefully a lot of you have a long weekend to enjoy, whether you’re celebrating anything or not! There are plenty of great local events for you to enjoy, and some of them involve finding chocolate eggs.
Bad news: the forecast calls for rain this weekend. Good news: it’ll (hopefully!) wash away the final remnants of winter just in time for spring blooms to decorate the city. While waiting on that sunny weather, here are a few things to keep you occupied.
Welcome, April! Live music seems to be the theme for this weekend, so pick a show or two and hit a cool local bar or restaurant afterwards for some cheer. If you’d rather stay in, we have some livestream options for you. 2022 could be the summer of your own homegrown mushrooms, if that floats your boat.
Spring is in the air, some mandates are dropping, and events are back in full force. However, just because the province has dropped a lot of mandates, still be sure to check with venues and events before going as many are still supporting mask-wearing and more. Safety first!
