What’s your favourite style of retail experience? Online? Big box? Suburban shopping centre?
I lean towards shopping at the local stores that make an urban neighbourhood unique and interesting. Of all the neighbourhoods in Ottawa with that kind of vibe, Wellington West is likely my favourite. Along with interesting and diverse shopping, it has various quality restaurants, cafes, bars, and other services.

Taste of Wellington. Photo provided.
On Saturday, September 21 from 10am to 4pm, the annual Taste of Wellington event is happening all along Wellington West, from Island Park Drive to Bayswater. And don’t be fooled by the “Taste” part. While there will be food samples from restaurants and other food vendors, there will be a whole lot more happening that day. Some of their entertainment offerings that caught my eye were Inflatable Curling, a Roller Disco, an Aerial Show, Hip Hop Dancing, and a Dog Photo Booth.

There will also be a big sidewalk sale along Wellington as many stores will be manning tables out front.
So head to Wellington West and get a taste!
