This Sunday marks the first day of fall, but this weather has us hanging onto those summer vibes. We’ve got a real mix of events this weekend, ranging from art and food festivals to road races to Oktoberfest celebrations!
All Weekend
The annual Canada Army Run takes place this weekend with events and activities happening all weekend long at City Hall. The 5km, 10km, and half marathon races take place on Sunday (so be aware of road closures if you’re looking to get around downtown!).
If you haven’t been to see Cirque du Soleil ECHO at Place des Festivals ZIBI, this weekend is your final chance! Learn about the show in our post here and buy your tickets online.
Don’t put away your bike just yet! The NCC Weekend Bikedays continue through to October 14 with road closures on Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays.
Music and Beyond links wine and music on September 19 and 20. On Thursday, enjoy In Vino musica by the French early music ensemble La Chapelle Harmonique. On Friday, there is a wine auction at the Embassy of France. Get all the details and tickets here.

Le Tour de Gatineau, a women’s road racing event, takes place this weekend.
The annual West End Studio Tour (WEST) is a walking, biking, or driving tour of art studios located just west of downtown Ottawa. The tour takes place September 21 and 22 from 11am-5pm.
Thursday
Thursday marks the opening of the One World Bazaar, an annual shopping event with one of a kind products that runs for 9 weekends from mid-September to mid-November.

Friday
Ottawa Quad Rollerskating Club is hosting a social rollerskating event this Friday from 9-10:45pm at Carleton University.
Capital Pop-Up Cinema heads to Westboro Village for a screening of Matilda in the lot beside the Churchill Seniors Recreation Centre.
All Request Radio is a musical improv comedy where performers rise to the challenge to create and perform lyrics based on audience song title suggestions and a playlist they’ve never heard! Doors open at 7:15pm with the show from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets and info are available online.
Saturday
Taste of Wellington offers you a chance to taste what makes the Wellington neighbourhood so unique. There will be sidewalk sales, food samples, kids activities, live music, and more this Saturday from 10am-4pm. The event takes place along Wellington Street West from Island Park Drive through Bayswater. Learn more in here!
Kichesippi Beer Co. is throwing an Oktoberfest launch party on Saturday to kick off the release of their Oktoberfest Lager: Fest Marzen. There will be a Beer Garden with scratch made sausages, Kaiser Rolls from Nats Bread, and fresh sauerkraut from Top Shelf Preserves!
Celebrate the autumn equinox at the Ottawa Mystic Market.
Choir! Choir! Choir! return to the National Arts Centre for an epic anthems sing-along. Tickets are available online for shows at 2pm and 8pm.

The Tavern at the Gallery is hosting the first of two weekends of Oktoberfest celebrations. Next weekend, the party moves to the Tavern on the Falls.
Sunday
Paint, sketch, draw… do what you want at the Artawa artist meetup on Sunday at the Ottawa Art Gallery. Bring your own supplies. Have supplies you’re not using but are still in good shape? Consider donating them to the art supply freebie bin for others to take and use.
The next CentreTown Flea Outdoor Market is happening this Sunday from 10am-4pm.
The Bytowne Cinema is hosting high tea cinema where you can enjoy tea, scones, and historical romance at the cinema. This edition features a screening of The Duchess.
Atlético Ottawa take on Pacific FC at TD Place at 2pm in a celebration of Franco-Ontarian culture. According to their website, the event will be a dynamic showcase of both soccer and the rich heritage of the Franco-Ontarian community.
