It may not feel like it, with the weather still being generally chilly, but we have made it to May! Spring market season is upon us, and there are several of them happening this weekend, alongside a bunch of other fun things—so without further ado, we give you the Weekend Roundup!

April showers have brought us May flowers! Although we’re still a week away from the start of the annual Canadian Tulip Festival, some of the early tulips have bloomed in Major’s Hill Park, along the Rideau Canal, and at Dow’s Lake. While I could easily spend a weekend touring the tulips, there are plenty of other options to pass your time this weekend.

There are lots of ways to help support struggling businesses downtown — even if you don’t have money to order gift certificates or products with. Go to your favourite business’ social media and like, save, and share their posts to help spread the word. If you can support financially, don’t forget to check ahead if businesses are open and operating fully before heading down!

This week I was going to tell you about a walk along the north part of Bank Street and across Sparks. But there seems to be something going on downtown, so we’ll leave that for another day.
