The truly final weekend of the summer is upon us and, whether you are soaking up every last second of the season, or celebrating the impending arrival of fall, there is so much to do here in Ottawa to enjoy this weekend.
All Weekend
The opening weekend of the 44th season of One World Bazaar has arrived. There will be food and drink, live cultural performances, interactive activities, and beautifully made goods sourced from the world around.
This is the last weekend to enjoy free outdoor events at Metcalfe Plaza. There will be a Concept Open Air Outdoor Party with Quata Quata on Thursday, a Coffee Party with Qahwa House on Saturday afternoon, and the season’s Closing Party with White Rabbit from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday night.
Celebrate Mabon at the Ottawa Mystic Market this Saturday and Sunday. Here you will find all kinds of trinkets and treasures to honour the arrival of the new season. There will also be tarot card and psychic readings at the event.
This weekend is the first of the West End Studio Tour’s back-to-back weekend 30th anniversary celebrations. Download their PDF map and make your way around Ottawa’s “Arts District” with a visit to the studios of 19 different local artists.
The Richmond Fair begins this Thursday and runs through the weekend. Entry to the fair is $15.99, with tickets for the midway rides available at an additional cost. There will be midway rides, livestock shows, live entertainment, a demolition derby on Friday night, and a parade on Saturday morning.

The 14th annual Asinabka Film and Media Arts Festival takes place this weekend. In addition to film screenings, there will be music, art, and an Indigenous craft and vendor market. A full schedule of events – which will be held at Club SAW, Gallery 101, Berlanga Lounge, and the Asinabka Office – can be found here.
The Great India Festival takes place at the RA Centre this weekend. The entire family can enjoy a day full of Indian music, dance, food, vendors, and more for a $10 entry fee.

Friday
Capital Pop-Up Cinema will be screening The Great Dictator in Beechwood Cemetery this Friday night. The movie starts at 7;30pm, but be sure to arrive early to snag the comfiest spot.
Those in the mood to move should head to House of Targ on Friday for an 80s Dance Party with DJ Remi Royale and One Vision. Ottawa cover band One Vision will have you singing along to 80s pop rock to kick off the evening. DJ Remi Royale will take over the decks from 10:45pm onwards and will get you grooving. Arriving late to the party? Bring a friend! There will be a special 2-for-1 cover after 11pm.
The inaugral Kanata Craft Beer Festival kicks off on Friday evening, and continues through Saturday on Legett Drive. Organized by the awesome people at the Orléans Craft Beer Festival, you can expect live music, good food, and all of your favourite local and regional beer slingers. There are still some tickets are available, so get them quickly!
Saturday
Cheerfully Made’s Fall Market is this Saturday from 10am to 4pm at the Bell Sensplex. This market features a ton of great Canadian makers and entry is a cool $5.

Head over to Parkdale Park this Saturday for the annual Drip House Block Party. There will be some delicious coffee and seasonal drink specials, alongside some great DJs, food vendors, live art, and an artisan market.
Taste of Wellington, the world’s longest street festival, is back for another year this Saturday. In addition to some delicious eats, there will also be a roller disco, bouncy castles, live art, a car show, and so much more. Donations made help support the Parkdale Food Centre.
The Alchemy Festival Dance Showcase is back for its second year at LabO bringing the unique and exciting world of Canadian dance to Ottawa audiences on Saturday night. A blend of contemporary and fusion dance that harmonizes traditional and contemporary modern styles, this year’s festival will include performances from 17 performers spanning generations and concepts of time. Sunday
Athletico Ottawa returns to the field at TD Place on Sunday afternoon at 3pm to take on Hamilton’s Forge FC in a regular season game.
The Glebe House Tour returns on Sunday from 1-4pm. A ticket gives you access to six of the Glebe’s most beautiful homes, and proceeds go towards GNAG’s Integration Support Program, helping children with exceptionalities attend camp.
Climax is hosting their Preheat Party ahead of their Nov. 8 pleasure and wellness conference at Uncommon Space on Florence Street from 5-8pm. The event is free.
