All Weekend
Celebrate Capital Pride at the National Arts Centre, including Quirky Cabaret: Pride Edition on Saturday, August 26.
If you haven’t been to the Ottawa Little Theatre, now’s your chance to go and enjoy Crimes of the Heart. Learn all about the play in our review here. Tickets are available online.

Hadestown, from Broadway Across Canada, is at the National Arts Centre from August 22–27.
Nostalgia Festival is the ultimate festival experience for anyone who loves the music of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Professional tribute bands will be playing all the hits at Lansdowne from August 23–27.
The Capital Fair runs August 18–27 with an impressive daily schedule of events, activities, and shows.
Thursday
Enjoy a free show this Thursday at Chef’s Paradise parking lot as part of the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition’s City Sounds Live. Enjoy tunes from Dimitri & Kosta Georgaras, Kathryn Patricia Cobbler, and Raphael Weinroth-Browne from 6–8pm.
If you haven’t been to one of the region’s many museums and galleries, don’t forget that most are free on Thursday evenings.
Friday
Nature Nocturne: Pride is sold out, so here’s your warning to snag your tickets to the Masquerade (October 27) or Glow (January 26).
Enjoy high tea on the veranda at the historic Laurier House National Historic Site. Enjoy treats and tea in this partnership between Parks Canada and All Saints. Reservations for the 12pm and 2pm seatings are available online.
It’s Bark in the Park this Friday: bring your dog to the Ottawa Titans game.
Capital Pop-Up Cinema is showing Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure on Sparks Street this Friday at dusk.
The Merry Dairy is hosting FOUR ice-cream pop-ups this Friday with stops in Orleans, Barrhaven, and Richmond. Get all the details here.

Saturday
July’s Awesome Ottawa award is supporting Latin at Lansdowne. The free weekly dance sessions start with a class from 6–8pm and continue into a social dance til 11pm. End your August with music at the Street Piano Finale, hosted by the Kemptville Folk Club, and say adieu to the Street Piano at their final concert of the season at the North Grenville Public Library terrace at 2pm. Stick around and enjoy the Kemptville Poutine Feast 2023.
Shop local at the ByWard Night Market with vendors, food, and drinks from 5-9pm.
Enjoy music Under the Stars (the final of the season!) on Saturday at the Club SAW courtyard.
Back to back special events at the baseball stadium… on Saturday, leave your dog at home (that’s Friday’s game!) and celebrate 95 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan with Japan Night.
The National Capital Pride Run, with 2.5km and 5km options, takes place at Riverain Park and will raise money for Bruce House. Pre-registration is required.
Bytown Sea Shanty Collective is an accessible singing collective (no experience required!). Join them Saturday at Beyond the Pale around 8pm.
Sunday
The University of Ottawa Salsa Club is collaborating with the ByWard Market for Salsa Sundays every Sunday at George Street Plaza. Lessons start at 3pm and social dance starts at 4pm.
