Mirror Mountain Film Festival has revealed its complete film programming schedule for this year’s edition, taking place the weekend of July 21–23 at LabO Theatre.
The schedule includes everything from independent dramas and documentaries to alternative animation and experimental works, live performances and interactive media. The festival will showcase 17 short films by local filmmakers this year. It will open with a live performance by Ottawa-based Oji-Cree First Nations musician Jakean in collaboration with local video artist Annie Socoria.
The event will also present two back-to-back programs on Saturday, July 22, focused on the queer community: the first is a retrospective of 2SLGBTQIA+ short films from the festival’s history, and the second is the Ontario premiere of the feature-length Acadian musical documentary Y a une étoile (There’s a Star). Director Julien Cadieux will be in attendance.

The 2023 Mirror Mountain Film Festival occurs from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 23, at LabO Theatre (10 Daly Ave). Tickets for individual screenings are $10, and festival passes are $35. and can be purchased online here.
