Long Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
We’ve arrived at yet another pandemic-style holiday weekend and things are…weird, to put it bluntly. While we may still be required to stay at home this Valentine’s/Family Day long weekend, there is plenty to do while staying safely away from others. Also, let’s not get too excited, but it would appear that the lockdown measures in Ottawa are reaching their end and the slow reopening of non-essential services is just around the corner, so that’s another thing to celebrate, along with an extra day off work.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
This weekend marks the arrival of yet another COVID-19 lockdown in Ottawa. With stay-at-home orders in effect as of midnight last night, this weekend’s roundup will focus on things you can do within your own home and neighbourhood, as venturing out is not in the cards for the next while.

#Support613 Gift Guide: Stocking stuffers
If you’re anything like me, there are always a bunch of tiny bits and bobs that would be perfect to gift, but not worth the effort of wrapping up and putting under the tree. Conveniently, for those items, we have stockings. It’s always a joy to watch someone pull a bunch of tiny surprises from a giant sock.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
We’ve somehow managed to make it through to the final month of 2020 and, for that, I think we all deserve a bit of celebration. As this weekend approaches, we’ve got a bunch of great ideas for you all as to how to properly go about it during this festive season.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
November’s second summer is coming to an end and this weekend we will have returned to more seasonal temperatures. While we may have to put on our jackets and scarves before heading outside, there is plenty to enjoy if we do (as well as plenty to do if we don’t)!
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
After what has been a rainy week, we are fortunate to have dry skies this weekend and to be able to make the most of one of the final (dare we say it?) weekends of fall. We may not get to enjoy some of the liberties we had before returning to Stage 2 of city shutdowns amidst this global pandemic, but we folks are creative and there is still plenty going on in this fine city.
Saunders Farm keeps the campfires burning and the Halloween spirit alive at FrightFest
For many of us who grew up in Ottawa, a visit to Saunders Farm has always been an important part of the Halloween season. Whether it was a trip to the pumpkin patch during the day, or having your wits scared out of you at FrightFest by night, it was always a time on which […]
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
October is upon us! The most beautiful month of the year has arrived and the trees are ablaze with golden yellows, rusty oranges, and fiery reds. While this weekend’s forecast isn’t calling for 30-degree weather like the weekend past, it is a great opportunity to layer up in those comfy fall sweaters and scarves and get outdoors.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
After only a couple of short days since the last long weekend of the summer, we’ve arrived at yet another weekend – the second last before the official arrival of fall!
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
We have made it into summer’s wind down and it is time to soak up all we can of these remaining summer weekends. Make it a priority to get outside and enjoy the sunshine while we can. There are plenty of reasons to get out and about this weekend, if the fleeting warmth of the season’s sunny skies isn’t enough to draw you from your living room. Here are just a few of them.
Long Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
We have arrived at the last of the magical long weekends of the summer! The weather looks wonderful and with things continuing to reopen around town, there is plenty of music, art, and exercise to fill your days. Make sure to don your mask and bring your sanitizer and enjoy the goings-on safely.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire ?
After what was bound to be a difficult week, working from home in this heat, this weekend calls for more of the same. It’s another hot one here in the city and we’ve lots of great ways to keep cool in this week’s edition of the Weekend Roundup!
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?
We’ve arrived at another weekend here in this great city and with it brings the start of a new season, sunny skies, and hot summer heat. There is so much to do to celebrate the arrival of the summer solstice, whether at home or outdoors, so we will get right to it.
Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire ?
There are some new outdoor activities to enjoy this weekend. We are now able to kick a soccer ball around, play a round of disc golf, shoot some hoops, or pop an ollie at the skate parks. Picnics are also now a thing. While we agree that this is very exciting news, please make sure that you enjoy these newfound freedoms safely and respectfully, while keeping your distance from others.
