Take your pick of Halloween-inspired events this weekend, whether that’s a visit to a local farmer’s market, a trip through a corn maze, or an evening at your favourite spooky spot. PumpkinFest, FrightFest, sKreamers, PumpkInferno, and Haunted Walk, and Acres of Terror are all great options!

Keep an eye on the National Capital Commission’s Fall Rhapsody colour meter to plan the perfect day enjoying the fall colours. While Gatineau Park is a popular option, it gets busy (even with a free shuttle) so consider checking out one of the other great options around town and in the Greenbelt.

Celebrate Oktoberfest around town this weekend with special events at Tavern on the Island, at Tavern on the Hill, at Lowertown Brewery, at Dominion City Brewing Company, or at Bicycle Craft Brewery.
The Metcalfe Fair has events all weekend long.
Thursday
National Arts Centre Orchestra conductor Alexander Shelley will conduct a program highlighting two composers, Strauss and Dharmoo, who use music to create mythic tales of heroes and villains. Tickets are available online.
Friday
PumpkInferno returns to Upper Canada Village for the spooky season beginning Friday October 3.
The Ottawa REDBLACKS take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Game starts at 7:30pm.
Studio Space Ottawa is hosting their sixth annual open studio art sale, with a vernissage on Friday from 6-9pm.
Saturday
Get into spooky season with Classic Albums Live and Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Tickets are available online and start at $34.
A 15-piece band from the Ottawa Jazz Orchestra will play Duke Ellington’s Far East Suite this Saturday at the NAC with showtimes at 4pm and 8pm.
613flea returns to Lansdowne Park.
Dear Rouge headlines this year’s HOPE Rockfest.
Capital Pop-Up Cinema is closing out the season with the 1925 film Phantom of the Opera at the Beechwood Cemetery. As always, the show is free and popcorn will be available for purchase. Don’t miss a short film (Mickey Mouse and the Haunted House) with live score by Orchidae at 7pm before the film starts at 7:30pm.

Celebrate Oktoberfest with Brahms Expedition Vol 2., the second instalment in the newly launched Brahms Expedition series presented in partnership with Ottawa Chamberfest.
The ByWard Barket is back with dog friendly events, activities, and treats in the ByWard Market from 10am-5pm.
One of the biggest sports event in town takes place this weekend: the annual Panda Game will see the uOttawa Gee-Gees take on the Carleton University Ravens.
