We’re fully into the summer madness with a bunch of different events and activities happening around town this weekend!

The 5th edition of Side by Side Weekend returns with an all ages, multi-day, multi-genre music and arts festival at CLUB SAW.

Ottawa Chamberfest runs July 18-27, making this your last weekend to take in one of the many events and shows in the schedule.

Thursday

Enjoy The Lionyls outdoors this Thursday as part of the National Arts Centre’s Music on the Canal series. The boat leaves from the NAC around 6:30pm and travels along the canal to Lansdowne before completing the return journey back.

Friday

Capital Pop-Up Cinema presents Spice World at the Beechwood Cemetery. Get there early to join a free guided walking tour at 7pm that celebrates the real-life trailblazing women who changed Canada. The movie starts at 8:30pm. Popcorn, water, and jumbo sour keys will be for sale. Chairs are available to rent for $5 or bring your own.

The Almonte Craft Beer Fest is back for 2025. The 19+ event takes place at Almonte Old Town Hall on the Mississippi River. Tickets are available online for $20.

Drunken Cinema, an interactive movie experience, brings True Lies to the big screen at the ByTowne Cinema.

The Ottawa Rapid FC play the Halifax Tides FC on Friday at TD Place. Game starts at 7:30pm.

Saturday

Take part in Chamberfest’s Saturday morning yoga series with a free outdoor yoga practice at City Hall this Saturday. Pre-registration online is requested.

Enjoy yoga at the Tavern at the Gallery every Saturday throughout the summer. Book your spot online.

Urban Art Collective is hosting an antique, vintage, and thrift market from 2-7pm.

Ottawa Free Fitness and Atlas Haus are hosting a free 5km run starting at the Stackt shipping container pop-up (60 ByWard Market Square).

There’s a Shrek Rave at The 27 Club.

Capital Pop-Up Cinema will be at the Merivale Mall (in the mall parking lot behind Harvey’s) with The Sandlot.

Enjoy Primary Colours, a Canadian piano trio, as part of the National Arts Centre’s Music on the Canal series. The Saturday show starts at 4:30pm.

The Vegans Who Snack Food and Arts Festival has moved to their rain date of Saturday given Friday’s forecasted thunderstorms. The festival will take place from 5-9pm at the Parkdale Market.

If you’re strolling down Sparks Street this weekend, don’t miss Live from the Booth, a free music series every Saturday from 7-9pm at The Booth on Sparks Street (between Elgin & Metcalfe).

Sunday

There’s Salsa Sundays every weekend in the ByWard Market and Zumba on the Hill at Parliament Hill.

Beyond the Pale is hosting a patio paw-ty with Critter Jungle. From 2-6pm, both you and your pup can enjoy special treats on the patio.
