The Festival Franco-Ontarien is celebrating its 50 years this weekend with special celebrations and performances at Major’s Hill Park — whether you speak French un petit peu or not — it’s a great time to take in all this festival has to offer.
Ottawa’s independent cinemas have great films coming up for you to check out. You might want to take advantage of Friday’s date on the calendar for a trip to your favourite summer camp.
Saturday and Sunday the Ottawa Retro & Antique Market is on at Next Door Market and Event Space on Gladstone.

The Hintonburg Night Market is on from 4-9pm with local artists, artisans, entrepreneurs and food vendors.
The GCTC has a unique fundraiser event on — the managing director, Hugh Neilson, is creating a brand new musical, Hugh-kelele The Musical!, in one week and performing it on June 12. They have been collecting donations for folks to vote on how his show will go – what genre, song topics, etc. Whether you donated or not to have a say in the show, it’s worth buying a ticket to see how it all turns out!

The Britannia Village Community Arts Crawl is happening all day (rain date Sunday). Once again, the crawl will be held in the historic Britannia Village neighbourhood and will feature a wide range of local artists, from visual arts to musicians, photography, crafting, and more.
Rapid FC, Ottawa’s women’s professional soccer team, hits the pitch against the Montreal Roses at 2pm at TD Place at Lansdowne.
Head to the Rockcliffe Airport for some Summer Music Nights. Live music for free, food for purchase — just bring your lawn chair or a blanket!
Zucchini Productions is bringing another Confidential Musical Theatre Project experience to the GCTC — the show has been cast confidentially, and they only meet for the first time the night of the show — and the audience has no idea what show they’ll be performing! It’s always lots of fun and exciting to see how it somehow all comes together.
Capital Pop-up Cinema presents Napoleon Dynamite on Albert Island on Booth St.
ArtsPark2025 takes place at Parkdale Park. Head to Perth for a Broadway Bootcamp to the songs of Chicago with Broadway Workout. A fun and inclusive dance-based cardio workout class, these bootcamps focus on a few songs over a longer period than traditional Broadway Workout classes. Make a day of it in Perth and grab an ice cream or some dinner and hit the local shops while you’re at it
