Urban Legends Poetry Collective and The Other Hill are hosting Scribblin’ in the Margins, an open mic poetry night for poets with Two-Spirit, trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, and/or other gender-nonconforming identities, at allsaints Event Space this Friday. This pay-what-you-can event is also masked, so this evening of incredible poetry is accessible for all to enjoy.

Put on your dancing shoes and head on down to House of Targ for an 80s Dance Party with DJ Remi Royale and Party Sergeant. Party Sergeant will get the dance floor moving with two back to back sets of live musical tributes to the 80s divas. Later on in the evening DJ Remi Royale will hop on the decks and spin some of your favourite 80s tunes.
Saturday
The Eastern Ontario Craft and Gift Easter Market takes place this Saturday at Nepean Sportsplex. There is free admission and door prizes to this market of 90 vendors.
Summer’s favourite Shakespeareans are hitting the indoor stage for a change this weekend, offering public performances of their current touring show, which is being hosted by middle and highschools around town. A Company of Fools’ The Understudy is a fast paced, interactive show for all ages. Showing at allsaints event space Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, with online donation-only tickets available online.

Athlético Ottawa kicks off their 2025 season with their first home game against the Halifax Wanderers FC this Saturday afternoon at TD Place. Bundle up and hit the stands to cheer on our team.
While at Lansdowne, why not check out the Tamal Festival, in the Horticulture Building? There isn’t a lot of information, but it does promise tamales, which is enough for me!
The Second Annual Clothing Swap is being held Saturday afternoon at Thrive Select Thrift on Merivale. Bring any clothing that no longer suits your style, but that you think someone else may love, and swap them for a maximum of ten other clothing items that others have brought, as well as one other bonus clothing item from the store. Not only will you be helping to keep clothes out of landfills, but the proceeds from your $20 ticket goes towards supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters.
A great piece of theatre from Ottawa Fringe’s 2024 season returns to the stage this weekend. The Vexed and the Vigorous will be showing at the Great Canadian Theatre Company for one night only.
