After two years of COVID-imposed absence, the Ottawa Dragonboat Festival made its triumphant return this past weekend with plenty of live music, including headliners The Strumbellas and Serena Ryder.
The Strumbellas haven’t played here since they graced the CityFolk stage back in 2019. They are now ready to re-emerge, with a new single, a new lead singer, and a renewed focus. We reconnected with keyboardist Dave Ritter recently to catch up.

Over 10,000 people crowded Parliament Hill to Marie-Mai, Cœur de Pirate, Shawnee, K’naan, Alan Doyle, The Strumbellas, Crystal Shawanda, Brett Kissel, William Prince and *gasps* Ryan Reynolds.
It may be one of the rainiest summers we’ve had in a while, but don’t let that stop you from getting out and enjoying all the activities this weekend! Summer favourites like the light show at Parliament Hill are back, it’s the final weekend of Bluesfest, and Canada Scene has shows aplenty! Enjoy!
