Summer is not over yet, so as the community’s vaccination numbers rise, take advantage of Ottawa’s hot summer days to soak up some sun, catch up with some friends, and get reacquainted with all the cool nooks and crannies of the city that we love! Stay safe, celebrate August, check in on your isolated friends and family, and take care of one another!

Here’s a peek at some of what’s happening around town this weekend. 

Whether you have a weekend of museum and patio hopping planned, or a quiet picnic in your neighbourhood park, stay safe, stay hydrated, support local businesses, and take a deep breath of that July air, friends. We’ve gotten this far together.  Let’s keep one another safe.

This week’s geotour starts and ends where the Rideau Canal enters the Ottawa River, just below the Chateau Laurier. The tour will feature a moderate walk or bike ride between two provinces and reveal the history of why the Rideau Canal ends where it does.

There’s a lot of good food in Ottawa.
