Alright friends, we’re still very early in summer but numbers are creeping up again for COVID-19 cases, so please take precautions while you enjoy your activities, so we can keep this going. There are plenty of shows, events, festivals and activities, but we’d like for things to continue and to avoid lockdowns and such… so let’s all mask up when indoors or in crowds and we can make up for the past two summers of postponements and pauses!
Summer is not over, no matter how many back-to-school ads or Thanksgiving decorations you come across. Whether you are new to Ottawa (welcome!), re-acquainting yourself with town and campus, or just itching to get out of the house this weekend to make the most of summer, we have it all here. This weekend’s major focus seems to be local art and culture, so there is no better time to support local talent in the neighbourhoods we live in.
Another summer weekend is here and it is HOT-tawa!
With plenty of fun activities and slightly more reasonable temperatures, here are some of our picks for the weekend!
After the hullabaloo and heatstroke of the long weekend has passed, we are faced with another beautiful weekend in our city, and no limit of ways to fill it. Bluesfest starts with a bang on Thursday night and rolls right on through the weekend. If Lebreton Flats is not your destination of choice, mix it up a little bit with a poutine in Gatineau, a soccer game, some classical music or a Shakespeare play for a little culture.
It may be one of the rainiest summers we’ve had in a while, but don’t let that stop you from getting out and enjoying all the activities this weekend! Summer favourites like the light show at Parliament Hill are back, it’s the final weekend of Bluesfest, and Canada Scene has shows aplenty! Enjoy!
Happy long weekend, folks! On Instagram, tag your shots with #apt613wknd to be featured.
It’s a fun way to be a tourist in your own city.
