Pops Conductor Jack Everly returns to the NAC Orchestra after two years for a night of showtunes from two of the best songwriters of the twentieth century: Lerner and Loewe.

This particular rendition of the play is an all-Canadian version of the classic story where Clara is not only joined by the Prince, the Mouse King, and the Sugar Plum Fairy; there are also Mounties, hockey games with snowball fights, and of course, Filbert the Bear.

Royal Winnipeg Ballet brings an immersive and elegant Nutcracker steeped in Canadiana with Mounted Police, Parliament Hill, and Hudson’s Bay merchandise. Its Canadian roots are evident and make for an ever more sincere experience.

We’re inching our way towards winter, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in the city.

The program consists of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, and both Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35 and Symphony No. 6 in B minor, “Pathetique.” The Orchestra will be lead by Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska, in her North American Debut.
