Going back to the early days of the COVID-19 crisis in Ottawa, the National Arts Centre Orchestra started a program of “NACO Lunch Break” concerts. As a way to stay connected with musicians in isolation, the series takes you into the homes of NACO members (and guest musicians) for casual performances of their favourite works.
With a daily performance every weekday at noon since mid-March, their YouTube playlist is going to hit 100 videos this week. In this clip, we have the pleasure of listening in on violinist Leah Roseman, who chose to perform a work by the contemporary Russian composer Aleksey Igudesman.
Roseman has been a member of the NACO since 1997. She grew up in Ottawa attending NACO concerts, and enjoys organizing shows as the current Artistic Director for the Mackay Chamber Music Series.
