On April 25-27, 2025, I took in Ottawa’s first ever Aerial Circus Festival at the LabO Theatre located on the ground floor of the Ottawa Art Gallery (10 Daly Ave.). You had me at Aerial Circus. What a spring treat!
Empty Space | Empty Time with Worlds Within was an expressionistic meeting of dance and music, blending cello and choreography, space and energy.
Brian Carroll: “These two delightful plays for the price of one are a real Fringe bargain … The opening night audience laughed heartily at Anton Chekhov’s The Proposal and they did the same for the premiere of Laurie Fyffe’s sequel, The Ring.”
Colin Noden: “whY! allows us to explore the question through amazing original music performances, poetry performance, skits, and dancing puppets being bell-chased by Aunty (I’m not sure that part was in the script).”
Barbara Popel: “First things first – this play should be labelled as “Mature”, not “14+”. There’s a lot of profanity, mostly of a sexual nature, and lewd behaviour involving objects that are longer than they are wide.”
