National Poetry Month in Canada is here! Would you like to share your original poetry with the world? Apartment613 wants to help!

Poets, take note! The Apt613 digital poetry chapbook returns for 2023 to celebrate National Poetry Month. We invite readers and writers to submit original poetry for the chapbook, which will be published later this year.

2023’s theme is “Plants, Animals, and Humans”—any or all of these can form part of the submitted poems’ subject matter or meaning. Previously unpublished poems in all languages, genres and styles are welcome. We encourage all poets living and working in Ottawa-Gatineau to introduce their work, whether you’re an established artist or just starting.

The chapbook will be launched and linked to on the Apt613 blog. We are working with a local designer to create the layout and art for the chapbook.

Please send your work in an email to poetry@apt613.ca with “NPM 2023” in the subject line before April 30 to be included in the chapbook. We can’t wait to read them!

Note: Copyright of all submitted works will remain with the writer, but by submitting your work, you permit us to publish your work once in the chapbook. Apt613 will not sell or profit from the chapbook in any way; it will be free to download and read.

This project is funded in part by the City of Ottawa.
