National Poetry Month
We did it in 2020 and we’re back again for 2022! In the spirit of inspiring conversation about local poets and poetry in Ottawa, Apartment613 is inviting its readers and writers to submit their original poetry to be published in a digital chapbook later this year.

Riverbed Reading Series features literature, music and performance. It is a gathering space at the intersection of these practices, driven by the belief that artistic spheres are intrinsically connected. Riverbed will operate on a quarterly basis, launching May 20, 2020.
Here are some highlights from the last week on the blog and some things to look forward to this weekend.
Throughout the month of April, OPL will try to help the Ottawa community “awaken their inner poet…” while staying at home.
Were it any other time but now, we’d all be rejoicing about the arrival of the Easter long weekend and an extra couple of days off of work but, for a lot of us, this past month has been the longest weekend ever.
At the end of the month, Apt613 will publish to the blog and @apt613 social media this community collection of original poems. Please end your work before April 26 to be included.
Local author Amanda Earl is joining poets from around the world in an experimental writing initiative. For the last three years, the U.S. online magazine Found Poetry Review has organized a project to commemorate National Poetry Month in April.
