Close Talker, the Canadian indie band hailing from Saskatoon, is finally returning to Ottawa. After a five-year hiatus that left fans hanging since a concert at Club SAW in 2019, they’ve emerged with their fifth studio album, The Sprawl.

With their upcoming date at Club SAW on April 29th, alongside special guests Postdata (the solo project of Paul Murphy from Wintersleep), Close Talker promises an evening of cathartic melodies and soul-stirring rhythms you won’t want to miss.

The Sprawl marks Close Talker’s triumphant return since they quit their record deal and began their hiatus from the project that they started in 2012. There was never a specific timeline for their return.

Atwood Magazine aptly describes the album as “cathartic, soul-stirring,” capturing the essence of the band’s emotive soundscapes and introspective lyrics. But Closer Talker isn’t just about studio recordings. Their magic comes alive on stage, where their performances transport them into a realm of live music bliss. Club SAW provides the perfect backdrop.

Tickets are $20 plus fees online and at the door (general admission). Doors open at 8pm and the concert begins at 8:30pm. The show is open to all ages.
