Wanna take a tour at the U turn? The leading company in the world of renewable energy hiring is opening its doors so you can see how your same day shipping happens! Hint, boxes are not moved by who you think they are. And what’s more? Even the dead are not safe from this job market!

Three z(ombies) are the main characters of this play, showing the audience—members of the guided tour—an inside look in the facilities at U Turn. As the play progresses, we see how the needs of the three Undead change and grow as they discover the complexities that come with being re-alive.

The strength of this play is in the writing. The puns are plenty and the rhymes are savvy, making the audience laugh at every turn. There is a nice physical quality to the movement of the characters on the stage, with multiple boxes used as props. The incorporation of the audience in the play as the touring group adds a unique quality to the show, making us feel part of the story and expanding the stage space to include the whole room.

What sets this show apart? Every presentation the actors rotate roles, bringing different nuances to the characters they embody.

Does the Necromancer Have To Report His Minions To The CRA? is playing at LabO from June 13–22. Tickets are $14 plus service fees at the Fringe box office (3rd floor, Arts Court, 2 Daly Avenue), and at the three satellite box offices (LabO in the Ottawa Art Gallery, Fringe Courtyard, 67 Nicholas St and La Nouvelle Scène).
