Ottawa’s many farmers markets continue through September with some of the best local produce available. We’re also heading into apple picking and pumpkin patch season so keep an eye out for updates from your favourite local farms and orchids for the best times to visit.

NCC Weekend Bikedays continue through to the end of October with parkway closures to support active use on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday Mondays. The NCC is also offering a free Gatineau Park shuttle on weekends (stay tuned for the fall schedule to catch Fall Rhapsody!).
Mirror Mountain Film Festival, an Ottawa film festival that highlights independent, alternative, and underground cinema from around the world, takes place September 5-7 at the ODD Box at 2 Daly Avenue (Arts Court). Learn more in our post here.

If you’ve been meaning to check out the NCC River House, this weekend is the final chance for supervised swimming. Lifeguards will be on duty Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7:30pm. If you miss your chance this weekend, you’ll be able to pop by on September 13 during Open NCC (the swim area will be open but unsupervised).

WARP is a peer mentorship program co-founded by The Framework, Debaser, Produced By Youth and The Moving Art Gallery. The program equips mentees with the skills needed to develop their creative projects, plus resources and tools they need to create safe(r), more accessible and sustainable projects. Chef’s Table is a farm-to-table feast at the National Arts Centre with a live musical accompaniment. Part of the Festival of Small Halls, this weekend’s event features chefs Amy Pelletier and Kenton Leier with the East Coast Experience trio. Tickets are available online.

Capital Pop-Up Cinema is screening Adventures in Babysitting at the lot beside Churchill Seniors Recreation Centre. The movie starts at 7:30pm.
The Ottawa REDBLACKS take on the BC Lions this Friday with a special halftime drone show.
The de Montigny Contemporary gallery is hosting an opening reception for its latest exhibit, INFERNO from 6pm-9pm.
Saturday
Canada’s largest Latin dance celebration, the Latin Sparks Festival, is coming to LeBreton Flats this Saturday from 3-11pm.
Celebrate the Stray Dog Days of Summer at Stray Dog’s 8th anniversary celebration!
It’s your final chance of the summer to experience yoga at the gallery. Tickets are $25 and available online.

Atlético Ottawa cinched their earliest-ever playoff berth with their win last weekend. Cheer on the team as they take on the Pacific FC this Saturday at 7pm in a match supporting Active Newcomer Youth Ottawa, a community organization that supports newcomers through sports and social interactions. Tickets to the game are available online.
Vanier’s biggest block party, Beechfest, is this Saturday with music, art, food and more from 3-9pm.
Square Lemon Ottawa is hosting a fall craft market at the Glebe Community Centre. There’s free entry and a free button making workshop!
Sunday
Celebrate the full moon with free yoga at the Aberdeen Plaza from 9-10pm. Non-perishables food items will be collected for the Ottawa Food Bank.
Salsa Sundays continues through September in the ByWard Market. You can also enjoy Zumba on the Hill until the end of the month.
Ottawa Rapid FC play the Montreal Roses FC on Sunday at noon.
The annual Sandy Hill Food Truck Festival returns for its third year, taking place on Chapel Street between Laurier and Wilbrod.
The Beechwood Cemetery and the Ottawa School of Theatre present the Annual Historical Tour in a Living Library format from 2-3:30pm.
The fifth annual One Million Steps for OCD walk is set for 3:30pm at Minto Park (102 Lewis St.). After the 3km walk, there will be games, music, food, and more!
The Shenkman Arts Centre is hosting an open house with performances from 11am to 3pm.
