Ottawa Craft Beer Week is back, and it all kicks off this Friday. Check out the list of craft breweries participating and head out to try something new! Pick up a free passport at your first location, and get a stamp at every brewery. Every business is offereing different promotions and events to celebrate Craft Beer Week so check the events calendar to be sure you don’t miss anything!
The Ottawa Titans are in the middle of a 9 game homestand after a scorching hot July. The boys in pin stripes are taking on the Trois Rivieres Aigles, the Quebec Capitals and the Florence Y’alls so we can expect some serious action.
Spend a lovely evening in a park near you and take in a Company of Fools’ hilarious take on Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors. With a creative Super Mario spin, this one is a serious crowd pleaser, I promise. The shows are by donation, with a $20 suggestion. Worth every penny! Bring a picnic and your friends!

The third annual Outaouais Herb Gathering Festival, happening this weekend at the Old Findlay Farm in Gatineau, will highlight the healing power of plants. Tickets are still available for all parts of the weekend.
Odyssey Theatre returns to Strathcona Park for its 39th season with a new play written by the company’s founding artistic director, Laurie Steven. The Girl With No Hands was inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Girl Without Hands.” The show takes the outdoor stage Tuesdays – Sundays at 8pm, with pay-what-you-wish Sunday matinees at 2pm. Sometimes we just need to watch an hour of cat videos from the internet, amirite? ByTowne Cinema’s Cat Video Fest is back, with 75 minutes of nonstop cat videos with screenings all weekend. A portion of tickets sold will benefit the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue!
Ottawa International Busker Fest is taking over Sparks Street all weekend, with a constant stream of street performers, ticketed shows, and vendors. If you’re interested in taking in some racy vaudeville style burlesque, there is also an evening for you!
Did you know that we’re not only expecting a full moon this weekend, but also a meteor shower? Take it all in with Full Moon Nights at Parc Nature Éco-Odyssée outside of Wakefield. You can camp overnight, enjoy live music by the fire, or just hang out to take in the meteor shower by boat in the water maze (!?!). The parc is offering lots of ways to get celestial.
Thursday
Formative Years: A Photographic Study of the Booth Street Complex opened at the Art House Cafe last weekend, and the vernissage is Thursday evening from 7-10pm. The event is free to attend, and you can read all about it here.
Anina’s Café in Vanier is hosting cult classic I Know What You Did Last Summer with the Ottawa Horror Club Thursday evening for a cozy night in. The event is free to attend, and the screening starts at 8pm.

Friday
The Ottawa BlackJacks are within an inch of making the playoffs, and you can be there when they do! Friday at 7:30 the guys are taking on the Montréal Alliance for the first of two home games this weekend. Tip off is at 7:30 and tickets start at $35.
If you need a good little cry, Capital Pop-Up Cinema is screening My Girl at Beechwood Cemetery Friday night, starting at 8:30. Bring your lawn chair, some snacks and your pals and get a good spot early. There will be chairs for rent, and popcorn for sale as well, as always!
Before My Girl, join the folks from Beechwood Cemetery for a free guided walking tour that uncovers the founding stories behind Canada’s National Cemetery. These tours are always a big hit, and a great way to learn more about the National Historic Site. Founders of Beechwood tour is about family, memory, and finding meaning in the spaces we inherit.

Don’t throw it away – fix it! The Ottawa Tool Library is holding a Repair Café at Zibi on Saturday from 10-2. Learn a new skill, and keep your goodies out of the landfill at the same time. No registration required, but donations are always welcome.
The All Things Bookish Market is happening at the Byward Market from 11-5. Connect with local authors, learn more about indie bookstores, bookish merch and more.
Les Grands Feux of Casino Lac Leamy continues this weekend, with Mexico taking centre stage in the sky on Saturday night. There are still tickets available for the full experience on the lawn at the Museum of History.

Ottawa Craft Beer Week is launching with an All Vinyl 90s Dance Party at Spark Beer on Somerset St West. DJ Geoff Paquet will be in charge of the vibes, starting at 8pm, with no cover charge.
Empress Effects Inc, an Ottawa-based company that designs and manufactures internationally-sold guitar pedals, is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. To celebrate they’re hosting an industry expo and mini music festival on Saturday at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts – Music Festiversary. The headliner is none-other than Canadian musician, Menno Versteeg (of Hollerado) – he is also Annie Murphy’s husband (from Schitt’s Creek).

Our third place Ottawa Rapid FC takes the pitch Sunday at 4pm against the Calgary Wild. There are still tickets available online, and it’ll be the perfect day to take in a winning match in the sun.
