After a scorcher of a week, the weather is cooling off just in time to make this weekend bearable. There is plenty going on outdoors (and in), so take full advantage of the break in the heat and enjoy yourself.
All Weekend
The Ottawa Jazz Festival wraps up this weekend. There are a ton of great artists playing, including a bunch of free performances as well. Check out the full lineup here.

Capital Pop-Up Cinema presents back-to-back film screenings this Friday and Saturday night. They will be screening Spaceballs on Sparks Street between Metcalfe and O’Connor on Friday night and The Princess Bride on the grounds of the Uplands Military Community Centre on Saturday.
Spend another weekend at the ballpark, with back-to-back-to-back baseball games with the Ottawa Titans. There will be fireworks after Friday night’s game and there is a golden ticket up for grabs at Sunday’s family friendly game.
Thursday
Celebrate the reopening of Westboro Beach this Thursday eve with their annual Westboro Beach BBQ. Come check out the newly redeveloped facilities and enjoy a delicious barbecue. The meats (and veggie options) will be available by cash or card and there will be lots of free sweet treats as well.

As per usual, the Hintonburg Night Market will be taking place this Thursday in the parking lot of the Urban Art Collective. There will be Nonna’s Pizza, a live DJ set by DJ Faust, mocktails by the Booj, a digital art show, photo booth, bracelet bar, and – of course – the market.
The third edition of Queers Bash Back is being held at the Ottawa Bike Cafe this Thursday. Tickets are sold out online, but there will be a limited number of cash only tickets available at the door. There will be stories from queer elders, drag performances, zine making, harm reduction resources, a discussion of queer theory, and so much more. Of note, masks are mandatory for this event.

C*4 Wrestling’s Season Finale takes place this Friday night at the Preston Event Centre. Witness the final battle between Evil Uno and Junior Benito, starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $30 if purchased beforehand and $40 at the door.
This Friday brings with it an epic 80s Dance Party with DJ Remi Royale and 80s party band New Vintage at House of TARG. New Vintage will get the party started with some great covers of your favourite 80s hits and then DJ Remi Royale will take over on the decks with some dancing tunes.
Saturday
Take part in a little Saturday Savasana with Pure Yoga Ottawa’s Brittany Bryden’s Yoga at the Gallery. An outdoor flow yoga class will be held from 9am to 10am at Tavern at the Gallery located at the National Gallery of Canada. Tickets are $25.

The 4th annual Indigenous Outdoor Market is being held this Sunday beside Maker House, in the parking lot of Little Mac’s. Here you will find a market of 15 Indigenous makers, as well as live performances.
The Whalesbone 18th Annual Bytowne Oysterfest is going down at Beyond the Pale Brewery this Sunday. Presale tickets have sold out, but there are a limited number of tickets available at the door, so head out early to snag your chance at delicious oysters, tasty beers, and a great party.
