As the weather warms up and the snow slowly melts, what better time to come out of hibernation and check out some of the great things happening in our city?

All Weekend

Ottawa’s Mini-Comiccon takes place all weekend at the EY Centre. Great weekend stop for fans of games, comics, t-shirts, toys, collectibles and more. Free admission!

Those looking to support local and Canadian fashion should hit up Workshop Studio & Boutique’s Legendary Spring Trunk Sale for exceptional deals on incredible designers.

Thursday

Anansi V, God(s) – A Play for the End of the World plays at Arts Court. It tells the story of a student needing to confront cosmic powers and forge their own path and is TACTICS’ first show in its 2023 mainstage series. March 31 is also its first Black Out Night in honour of the BIPOC community.

Art Battle is back at Overflow Brewing Company. Watch artists compete to create their works in three rounds of 20 minutes.

Jazz Night Out with Fred Hersch Trio is a live auction and benefit concert in support of Bruce House.

The Ottawa Tool Library has another great workshop—this time, on Basic Electrical Safety. If you’re into DIY and home renovation, this is a great one to help protect yourself and stay safe!

Friday

Art House Cafe presents Fever Pitch Hot Jazz for a trip back to the 1920s speakeasy vibe of jazz, ragtime, blues and brass band.

The 27 Club is hosting its Friday I’m in Love Indie Dance Pop Party with tons of indiepop, alternative, 2000s, post-punk and new wave.

If you want to hit the “stage” and get your musical theatre fix in, Broadway Workout offers Friday classes at the Old Ottawa South Community Centre for a fun dance workout. Different courses are offered across the city on other days of the week.

House of Targ hosts SPACED OUT DJ Party featuring Disco, space funk, dance, house and P-funk.

Catch the classic mainstay at Chateau Lafayette—Lucky Ron! He performs every Saturday, and it’s always a fun time.

Sunday

Broadhead Brewery is hosting the Hello Spring Makers Market with 25 local makers.

Wallack’s Art Supplies and artist Andrea Elena are putting on a Watercolour Workshop to paint a blue jay. If you don’t have your own supplies, then you can add them. Your skill level doesn’t matter!

Comedian Bill Burr plays Southam Hall at the NAC on Sunday.

You could also check out the mad skills of the Harlem Globetrotters at the Canadian Tire Centre.
