Happy belated Dominion Day, audiophiles! We’re a bit late with the most recent edition of the Apartment613 Live podcast, but understandably so – when the nation’s birthday coincides with a visit from our newly-married royal overlords, everything deadline-related goes pear-shaped. (Will and Kate, that little Britishism was my wedding gift to the two of you.)
Speaking of the honourable Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, on this week’s show we chat with Nick Iannitti of Ottawa Tourism about the whole royal visit and other summer attractions in our fair city. We explore the capital’s curmudgeonly side with local musician Glenn Nuotio, who’s spearheading Ottawa’s first ever complaints choir. And we overcome some pesky technical difficulties and play our interview with Casey Mecija, lead singer for Toronto indie pop collective Ohbijou, who helped ring in Canada’s 144th with a July 1st performance at JazzFest.
You can listen to us live on CHUO 89.1 FM every Thursday this summer from 2-3pm. Check out our playlist below.
