Jackson at Night is creating inventive flavour combinations in the form of small sharing plates at Jackson Café by Le Germain Hotel in the Ottawa Art Gallery.

Finally, we’ve reached the last weekend of January! Winterlude kicks off this weekend, and for the first time in a long time, the weather is cooperating for the winter festival, and keeping the canal open and sculptures frozen! If the outdoors aren’t your jam, there is plenty to do inside this weekend too, from live music, to craft markets and seed planting workshops.

We are one work week closer to real spring now, friends. Can you feel it? While the blossoms are slower to arrive than last year, we are counting our blessings and watching closely for the next perfect moment to hit a patio! This weekend is one for the books, with the launch of undercurrents—back in person!—and the Ottawa Grassroots Festival bringing new musical voices to downtown. The NAC is hitting it out of the park, as usual, and there is some great eco-conscious ultra-local shopping to do to round out the perfect spring weekend.

Welcome, April! Live music seems to be the theme for this weekend, so pick a show or two and hit a cool local bar or restaurant afterwards for some cheer. If you’d rather stay in, we have some livestream options for you. 2022 could be the summer of your own homegrown mushrooms, if that floats your boat.

Summer is not over yet, so as the community’s vaccination numbers rise, take advantage of Ottawa’s hot summer days to soak up some sun, catch up with some friends, and get reacquainted with all the cool nooks and crannies of the city that we love! Stay safe, celebrate August, check in on your isolated friends and family, and take care of one another!
