The Ottawa School of Theatre (OST) is hosting a FUNraiser on April 12, in preparation for their upcoming, all-ages production of Anne of Green Gables from June 2-8.
Vierge is a riotous spectacle of love, secrets and uncertainty! The show, which opened on Thursday, the 20th of March, introduces sixteen-year-old Divine (Espoir Segbeaya), who wants to make friends her age. To accomplish this, she starts a Bible study youth group in her church’s basement.
On May 31, I had the opportunity to see Orpheus Musical Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz, directed by Riley Steward and starring Marlayah McLeod, on opening night at the Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe.
On Wednesday, May 1, I had the honour of watching 100 Watt Productions’ brand new play, STUFF, at the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC). The play is directed by Kristina Watt Villegas and has a cast of lively and talented actors that make up the 100 Watt Youth Ensemble, who have been artists in residence at the GCTC for the past two seasons.
Colin Noden: “My first thought was that this was going to be a campfire ghost story melodrama. I was wrong. Impressive stage presence commands this true crime 1900s drama, letting us in to emotions which are still relevant today.”
