Ottawa is home to many fantastic festivals, highlighting everything from poutine to animation, but did you know we have our very own Irish Film Festival?! This fabulous celebration of Ireland and its people invites Ottawans to Arts Court Theatre from April 12th to 14th to glimpse six stand-out Irish films, covering everything from documentaries to historical dramas.
Since 2014, Pat Murray, Founder and Executive Director of Irish Film Festival Ottawa (IFFO), has shared his love of Irish cinema with Ottawans through an annual showcase of recent films of all genres from Irish filmmakers. The three-day event, which features in-person and virtual screenings, also incorporates Irish music, dance, and other arts.
Bad news: the forecast calls for rain this weekend. Good news: it’ll (hopefully!) wash away the final remnants of winter just in time for spring blooms to decorate the city. While waiting on that sunny weather, here are a few things to keep you occupied.
The fourth annual Irish Film Festival Ottawa is on its way with some promising performances and a number of outstanding films from this year’s Irish film directors, actors, screenwriters and animation houses.
