We figured Ottawa has quite the appetite for grains, considering the number of craft breweries and popular boulangeries in the region, but the steady stream of sourdough specialists, granola gobblers and focaccia fanatics at the Real Bread Festival last Saturday was all the proof we kneaded that flour power is on the rise in Ottawa.

Ottawa’s Almanac Urban Mill and Bakery is going strong one year into the grind. They have a bright, clean storefront now. But also, importantly, they have pizza.

Farinella uses their Spelt flour in their dough and you can also find bags of our flour for sale at some small businesses including Burrow Shop, Farmscore, Around the Block Butcher Shop, Bread by Us, and Red Door Provisions.
