We have arrived at the first weekend of Winterlude here in the nation’s capital! While it doesn’t look as though the canal will be open for skating at any point, there are still plenty of fun outdoor winter activities to enjoy in this mild winter weather, as well as several indoor activities, if that is more your style.
Welcome to another winter wonderland weekend in the 613! The Rideau Canal may not be open, but there is plenty to do around town to keep you entertained, educated, and enriched!
Whether you want to get out and enjoy nature or stay inside and keep warm there are plenty of things going on this weekend for you.
It’s *technically* the second weekend of Winterlude, but after a rollercoaster week of weather, the Rideau Canal still hasn’t opened and ice carvings are starting to melt (despite the best efforts of NCC staff!). That said, there are still some great Winterlude-esque activities to enjoy this weekend, plus a number of other great Ottawa events.
