The Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival launched their new virtual speaker series on February 25 with a deep dive into Black creators’ experiences in the Ottawa media industry.
Art curator, event producer, and consultant Rachel Weldon co-founded and runs Debaser, the community arts programming organization that is based on unceded Algonquin territory in Ottawa/Hull. Their activity in the Ottawa arts community for over 10 years, wealth of experience, and vast community arts network was an obvious fit for the DARC organizational residency program.
In collaboration with the City of Ottawa and CF Rideau Centre, Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC) is thrilled to announce the new public art program, In the Absence. The program guided a cohort of emerging and mid-career artists, based in Canada, who expanded on their existing practice and learned to use new tools available for digital creation.
Social Media Marketing for Media Artists was a free, live workshop that is part of a series of free digital workshops DARC is offering the community during COVID-19. Our goal is to make independent artists and creators understand that there are digital marketing strategies they can run on their own to promote their work.
