Cirquonscient kicked off its 2025 free fairie picnic series on a beautiful almost-summer Tuesday evening in Strathcona Park. This one hour family-friendly, outdoor circus performance presented by the Ottawa-based group was filled with ooohs and awwws from the audience as aerial performances took centre stage and whimsical characters, including graceful fairies who entertained and interacted with the crowd.

Local circus company Cirquonscient presented CrakdNutz, a holiday show that put a new and zany twist on The Nutcracker.
On January 20, Cirquonscient will present Cirque à la Carte, a 19+ cabaret-style circus event with performers from across the Ottawa community. They’re pulling out all the stops to wow us with aerials, acrobatics, juggling, live music, and more.
Cirquonscient is a “collective of Ottawa-based circus artists with a desire to promote creative expression and awareness of contemporary cultural and social topics interpretatively through circus and other art forms.” They’re hosting their first-ever art party tomorrow night at Club SAW. “above/below” will showcase various pieces and performances that feature local visual, performance, physical, musical and aerial artists’ unique expressions of the titular theme.
April’s Awesome Ottawa award goes to Rachel Conlon and the Cirquonscient collective to support free circus faerie pop-up picnics in Strathcona Park.
