This show was initially scheduled for May 2020, so you can imagine our excitement that the time has finally arrived for the always fun and fantastic Ottawa Pops Orchestra’s Pops on Broadway! concert.
There’s nothing like live music to bring you into the moment, and the Ottawa Pops Orchestra does it with such flair and fun that even if it’s your first time seeing a live orchestra, you won’t feel stuffy or underdressed. OPO is all about making it accessible and engaging, often encouraging the audience to take pictures and share them on social media during the show.

This much-anticipated concert will bring to the stage well-known favourites from Broadway shows like West Side Story, Wicked, and Evita that will surely have audiences tapping their feet and bopping their heads to the melodies. We always enjoy their stellar programming and can’t wait for this one.
On the program for this performance: A community orchestra made up of primarily university-aged musicians, with some older community members, four young soloists with a connection to the uOttawa School of Music and who have shared the stage together there; a choir made up of singers from various local musical theatre groups; selections from Broadway favourites; a female conductor from Montreal; and a special performance in the original language of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables, which is not often performed outside of French-speaking communities.
You’re in for a treat, so be sure to grab tickets for this one-night-only special performance.
The Ottawa Pops Orchestra’s Pops on Broadway! takes place November 6 at Meridian Centrepointe Theatres at 7pm. The performance is bilingual and appropriate for all ages. Tickets range from $25 to $50.
