By Daria Maystruk on April 10, 2024

The Ottawa Grassroots Festival has announced the full lineup of artists coming to Irene’s Pub and the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa from April 25-28.

First established in 2012, this is the Ottawa Grassroots Festival 12th multi-day, family-friendly celebration of homegrown music, art, culture and community.

Some headliner names this year include Lynn Miles, Charlie A’Court, and Connie Kaldor.

Four-time JUNO and eight-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee Robbie Teehan is also among the names of performers. Teehan, also known by his moniker Gentle Sparrow, will perform his recently-debuted EP “River” at the First Unitarian Congregation on April 27.

In a press release, Teehan shares that the five songs included in his EP attempt to fill the role of a compassionate and loving figure to guide him out of his long-standing mental health issues.

“I have written music in many different ways in the course of my life and career, but never purely for myself until this project,” Teehan writes.

The festival also offers daytime workshops, including a baby and toddler music class, fiddle lessons and two-step lessons.

With all its offerings, the festival promises to be unforgettable, and there is sure to be something for everyone.

Daytime shows and workshops are free, but evening shows are general admission ranging from $39.67 to $69.49. More information and options for ticket purchases can be found here.
