A defining moment of the season came in the form of an astounding eight-game winning streak, etching the team’s name into the franchise record books. This display of consistency and skill showcased the Blackjacks’ potential to dominate the league on any given night.
A pivotal factor in their success was the team’s impeccable shooting efficiency, boasting an impressive 47 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. Ottawa’s offensive prowess was further highlighted by their third-place ranking in points per game, averaging 88.4, and their ability to create scoring opportunities through exceptional ball movement, leading the league in assists.

Closing the regular season with a commendable 12–8 record, the Blackjacks entered the playoffs with high hopes of making a significant impact. However, fate had other plans as they faced a determined Shooting Stars team in the semifinals.
Despite a valiant effort, the Blackjacks were unable to overcome the Shooting Stars, falling short in a 77–72 thriller. A critical absence loomed over the Blackjacks’ lineup, with key contributor Jackson Rowe sidelined for the pivotal clash. Throughout the regular season, Rowe averaged an impressive 15.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Amid the highs and lows of the season, individual excellence shone brightly for the Blackjacks. Guard Kadre Gray emerged as a standout player, capturing the coveted 2023 CEBL Canadian Player of the Year award. His exceptional skills and contributions earned him a well-deserved spot on the CEBL All-Canadian team. Joining him on this prestigious roster was the versatile forward Jackson Rowe.
