The Ottawa BlackJacks have faced a challenging beginning to their CEBL season, starting with a 0-2 record. The team, which features many new faces and awaits the arrival of a few players still wrapping up their European seasons, is working hard to find its rhythm. Head Coach James Derouin, now also serving as General Manager, is striving to bring cohesion and victories to the team soon.

Home Opener vs. Edmonton Stingers

Ottawa’s home opener against the Edmonton Stingers had an electrifying start. Newcomer Isaih Moore, a 6’10” center, made a powerful first impression by slamming an alley-oop from Yasiin Joseph for his first-ever CEBL basket, thrilling the crowd. Moore continued his strong performance, scoring Ottawa’s first seven points and finishing the game with 22 points.

Despite Moore’s efforts, the BlackJacks fell short, losing 99-84 to the Stingers. The game was tightly contested, tied at 81-81 before the target score was set at 99. The Stingers surged ahead, making key shots to lead 87-81. The BlackJacks hit a three-pointer to close the gap, but Davion Warren’s three-pointer secured the win for Edmonton.
