Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival has announced its all-Canadian musician lineup, including headliners Dear Rouge, Tim Baker, and Bedouin Soundclash.
Ottawa’s Dragon Boat Festival is always a high point of the summer, not least because all the concert programming is free. But it’s also refreshing to see a festival aim for an all-Canadian lineup and stick the landing. Juno Award–winners Dear Rouge take the stage on Thursday, Tim Baker (perhaps best known as the frontman of Hey Rosetta!) headlines Friday night, and Bedouin Soundclash closes the festival on Saturday.
But there is plenty of other local talents at the event, too: Rebelle, The New Hires, Alanna Sterling, and The Gladsome Gentlemen are all from the Ottawa area. Toronto’s The Darcy’s and Sister Swire round out the festival.
And while music might be a big draw, don’t forget that the Dragon Boat Festival is about seeing some of the best competitive dragon boat racing on the continent.
