On November 30, Impact Hub Ottawa, a unique community, co-working, and gathering space in downtown Ottawa, will bring together community and board members, alumni, funders, and local stakeholders to celebrate a shared decade of community, collaboration, and impact. The event will also feature the launch of a new art installation, “Resonant Currents,” crafted by artist Manuel Baéz and his Carleton University students, along with exciting announcements about the future of Impact Hub Ottawa and opportunities for networking.

The 10th-anniversary party is also an opportunity for Impact Hub Ottawa and its vibrant community of change-makers to enjoy a return to relative normality after two years of pandemic-related disruptions.
“When the pandemic limited public access to our physical space, we had to ask ourselves how we could continue to foster the supportive community environment that so many had come to rely on us for, while also protecting the stability of the organization,” said Brian Toller, Impact Hub Ottawa’s Board Chair. “Our amazing team worked expertly to pivot our programs and services online, hosting weekly virtual knowledge-sharing events and developing systems to keep members connected online. We also leveraged our existing capacity and resources to explore new grant-funded opportunities that aligned with our mandate of fostering meaningful collaboration and social impact.”
Since February 2020, Impact Hub Ottawa has facilitated 133 virtual events for over 1,725 people in Ottawa and beyond, exploring various topics, including social impact, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, personal development, and business management. The organization also adapted to the pandemic by creating new approaches to program and service design and delivery through partnerships with the Ontario Trillium Fund, TD Bank Group, Employment and Social Development Canada, and the City of Ottawa, among others.

“Innovation is at the core of who we are, so we have tried to look at the past two years as an opportunity to evolve our programs and services: adding virtual membership options to widen our reach outside of the city, and retrofitting our space to meet increased demand for virtual meetings and hybrid gatherings. We also invited our community to join us in a collaborative co-design process to reimagine Impact Hub Ottawa and the services we provide,” said Managing Director Elizabeth Cleland. “It is thanks to the endless support of our passionate community, along with the hard work of our team, board, and volunteers that we have made it through this extraordinary chapter of our 10-year story.”
Impact Hub Ottawa is located at 123 Slater Street, 6th floor. The 10th-anniversary event takes place from 5–8pm on Wednesday, November 30. Free tickets are available on Eventbrite.
