Prepare to immerse yourself in an auditory journey unlike any other as Debaser presents Drone Day, an annual celebration of drone, community, and experimental sounds.
This year’s event, co-presented with Carleton University Art Gallery, promises to be a special edition held at the beautiful Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre in Centretown this Saturday, May 25.
Drone Day invites artists and sound-makers of all levels to join in drone music exploration, reflecting on the question, “What is our relationship to this land?” In the vaulted performance hall of the Dominion-Chalmers sanctuary, participants will contribute their music to a unique sonic landscape, guided by the principles of deep listening.
The 2024 event features a diverse lineup of 15 guest artists, each bringing distinctive sounds and perspectives to the collective experience.
The schedule is packed with performances starting at noon with a gathering led by Anne Bourne, followed by an array of solo acts and small ensembles, culminating in a mesmerizing group drone session at 6pm. Admission is pay-what-you-can.
