Last night’s show was an electrifying spectacle – equal parts theatrical production, pop opera, and heartfelt performance. Katy Perry turned the Canadian Tire Centre into her vibrant universe blending fast-paced choreography, dazzling visuals, and fan-driven moments.
Opening the show with “Artificial” and “Chained to the Rhythm”, Perry emerged from the middle of the crowd suspended from the ceiling, in a chrome costume against a massive LED backdrop that evoked the futuristic tones of her Lifetimes Tour.

There wasn’t a bad seat in the house for this concert, as the stage featured a runway snaking to almost the end of the arena and a mechanical butterfly that flew around the crowd—ensuring fans were a part of the performance from every angle.

The performance unfolded in themed acts: nostalgic anthems in the Woman’s World act such as “Teenage Dream” and “Hot n Cold,” followed by more introspective tracks in the Nirvana act. Fan-nominated surprises in the “Choose Your Own Adventure” act added some fun, including “Tsunami” and “Act My Age.” The peaks of the show came towards the last act, Roar, where fireworks and soaring visuals spread throughout the arena.

Overall, the show was a vibrant, immersive pop experience that blended nostalgia and innovation seamlessly – Perry brought unapologetic energy and authenticity to every song.
The Ottawa crowd was loud, enthusiastic, well-dressed (neon wigs, sunflower masks, painted faces), and were a large part of the performance. Katy Perry delivered a full-scale production that felt inclusive, playful, and nostalgic.

Opening the night was Rebecca Black. While some might not have heard that name since back in the early days of YouTube, Black has been releasing plenty of music and has had recent performances at Coachella and at Boiler Room.
