A perfect start, with perfect weather last night, Day 2 looks to be just as inviting. While Wednesday’s lineup featured a few TikTok stars, tonight’s main stage is dedicated to a trio of artists that predate Facebook.
CityFolk kicked off last night at Lansdowne Park, with names like Alex Warren, Mia Kelly, and more, gracing the stage with their presence.
My favourite Ottawa festival, the Canadian Film Institute’s Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), begins on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and runs to Sunday, Sept. 28 at several downtown locations—mainly at the Ottawa Art Gallery and the ByTowne.
For all the fall lovers, it’s the start of the most wonderful time of the year, and as always, there’s no better way to mark the end of festival season than with a big finale, and CityFolk should deliver just that. Just like CityFolk consistently delivers great nights, Apt613 will be consistently delivering all your festival coverage with daily previews so you know what to expect, and photos from the night before so you know what you missed.
Pique is back, hitting up Arts Court with its fall lineup on Sept. 27.
For the past 38 years, the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon festival has been inviting guests to take in the views of the region’s landscape, enjoy live performances, and take part in their Beauce Carnaval Amusement Park. This year, they are adding one more night of fun and an additional stage to their festival.
The inaugural YOWFEST, full of Ottawa’s biggest hip-hop and rap artists, is taking place at Lansdowne Park right at the end of summer, featuring over a dozen artists on each day of the festival.
The Ottawa International Animation Festival lands on Sept. 24 through to Sept. 28. The festival showcases the work from animators across the globe, from Finland to France, Estonia and beyond. Among all these selections, only one hails from the festival’s host city of Ottawa. Brennan Bova, and his short film Join will be joining us in the ‘Commissioned Animation’ section of the OIAF this year.
This September, Mirror Mountain will take place from Sept. 5-7 at ODD Box in Arts Court, located at 2 Daly Ave.
