We’ve been hitting the Fringe in search of the good, the bad and the “why did I just pay $10 to see that?” We’ll add more as we go, but please point us towards (or away) from the productions you have seen.

It’s the last weekend for the Fringe – can’t decide which plays to see? Here are some reviews we’ve already found helpful:

This is a Recording
Review from Patrick Langston of the Ottawa Fringe Fest
Excerpt: Ottawa performers Kelly Rigole and Simon Bradshaw lend their considerable acting chops to the words of other, real-life people in this show, which almost immediately became one of the most-buzzed-about events of this year’s fringe. Read more…

Review from Jessica Ruano of the Ottawa Arts Newsletter
Excerpt: From what I have seen of Cutler’s work, his performance style resembles that of an eccentric university professor giving a scintillating, albeit frustrating lecture…For a time, I wondered if I could shout something out: after all, Cutler does encourage audience participation at the beginning of the show when he asks us what we know about Shakespeare. Oreo
Review from Wayne Current, over at (Cult)ure Magazine
Excerpt: So how was the play? Fantastic! This is Fringe theatre at its best. The incredible script deals with the issue of racial identity in a refreshing, vibrant, and humorous way. Read more…

Enter, Screaming
Review by Tony Lofaro, over at the Fringe Fest site
Excerpt:
