One of four clown shows this season at the Ottawa Fringe Festival, Victoria Watson Sepejak brings the absurdity and the humour in this sketch-style comedy.
With mixes of improv, audience participation and mime, Watson Sepejak interacts with the projector behind them, reacting and interacting with various prompts and videos. The show also revolves around the main character’s desire for their first kiss.

While a few of the audience cues were confusing, ANGEL, BABY took a minute to break the audience-performer tension. The show really warmed up towards the end of the hour, and had the audience laughing, clapping and singing along—especially with the dance battle that took place right before the end of the show.

A very go-with-the-flow performer, Watson Sepejak took everything in stride, and really committed to the bits they introduced throughout. One of my favourite parts was their sing-along to the introduction of Beauty and the Beast’s “Belle” where they also make sure to play the forgotten characters in the medley.
Merriment and absurdity abound in this production of ANGEL, BABY.
ANGEL, BABY is performing at DARC Microcinema from June 13–22. Tickets are $14 plus service fees at the Fringe box office (3rd floor, Arts Court, 2 Daly Avenue), and at the two satellite box offices (LabO in the Ottawa Art Gallery and La Nouvelle Scene). 5 and 10 Show Passes are also available.
