It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Elevator Theatre Company (ETC) has given us quite the holiday gift by announcing their 2025/2026 season! Following a similar structure to their first year, the lineup includes two musicals, a concert and a play, and we can guarantee the new season will not disappoint.

Dogfight – September 2025

First, ETC brings us Dogfight, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen) based on the 1991 film. Following the last night for a group of U.S. Marines before they ship off to Vietnam, they plan a ‘dogfight’, betting on which marine can bring the ugliest date to the party. In Marine Eddie Birdlace’s search for a date he meets waitress Rose and as their night unfolds the lines of cruelty, compassion, and the true meaning of beauty come to light.

35MM: A Musical Exhibition – November 2025

The 2025/2026 concert presents us with 35MM: A Musical Exhibition. With music and lyrics by Ryan Scott Oliver, this song series delves into the way stories can be told through different mediums and overlaps between photography and music. With each song set inspired by a Matthew Murphy photograph, stories are woven together to highlight the emotion brought forward through art and the power of storytelling.

August: Osage County – February 2026

This 2008 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama, written by Tracy Letts, tells the story of the dysfunctional Weston family following the disappearance of the troubled patriarch. The semi-biographical dark comedy explores family dynamics and deep-rooted generational issues as they bubble to the surface through times of crisis.

Once – June 2026

Wrapping up the 2025/2026 season is the musical Once. Based on the 2007 film, with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, the show won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical when it premiered on Broadway in 2012. The story follows two musicians as they bond over a shared love of music and work towards a collaboration. Their unlikely friendship forms into a complicated love story fuelled by music.

Along with the announcement of the new season, ETC has opened up a range of new sponsorship levels to help bring this next year of shows to life. If you’re passionate about theatre or know someone who wants to make an impact in the community, this is a great opportunity to support Ottawa theatre.

With a great 2025/2026 season in store, ETC has not left us wanting. Until the launch of the new season in September 2025, there are still two remaining shows in the current season (which has been excellent so far!) to look forward to. With the Ottawa-written play Late Company hitting The Gladstone stage in February 2025 and the hit musical Next to Normal closing out the season in May you can still grab tickets to enjoy one of Ottawa’s newest theatre companies that is making a scene!

We are so excited for the season ahead. Want to get a taste before next season’s launch? Listen to our playlist of some of our favourite songs from the 2025/2026 season selections!
