Capital Music Awards announce 2024 nominees

Today, the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition has announced nominees for the fifth annual Capital Music Awards, which take place on May 16 at Bronson Centre Music Theatre.

Heading the list with five nods is Pony Girl, followed by Beau Nectar, with four. Other multiple nominees include Grey Brisson, Mimi O’Bonsawin, The Commotions, JOLY and Hannah Vig.

Voting is now open for award categories such as Single of the Year and Video of the Year (vote here). Other highly-coveted award categories, such as Album of the Year and Group of the Year, are selected by a jury of Canadian music industry members.

The evening will be hosted by JUNO Award-winning Ottawa artist Angelique Francis, with performances by the Angelique Francis Band, Pony Girl, Amanda Rheaume, J Morris and LeFLOFRANCO. Four-piece funk band The Lionyls will hold it down as the house band for the night, with music direction from Brian Asselin of The Commotions.
