Nominations are now open for the sixth annual Capital Music Awards until Nov. 11 at 5pm EDT.

This year’s event will take place at the National Arts Centre’s Southam Hall on May 22, 2025.

“Our aim is to foster inclusivity and celebrate all, with the awards acting as a vital platform for discoverability within the music industry,” writes Zoë Argiropulos-Hunter, communications manager at the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC).

While only OMIC members are allowed to submit nominations, anyone from the Ottawa-Gatineau region can win a Capital Music Award. New OMIC members can register for a free, first-time OMIC membership using the code CMA2025 to submit their nominations.

All 13 award categories recognizing music creators, technicians, educators and entrepreneurs will be vetted by a jury of music industry professionals.

About OMIC: The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is a bilingual member-based non-profit whose mission is to play a lead role in the economic, cultural, and social prosperity of Ottawa and the surrounding region by creating a thriving and inclusive music ecosystem. OMIC provides opportunities for local artists, music professionals, and venue owners, fosters collaboration and innovation, and engages the local community.
